Partner organizations share a problem statement, or an assignment which students need to build, then submit using GitHub Classroom.
Partner organizations review submitted projects, communicate via pull-requests, and schedule interviews.

Students
Am I eligible to apply to the program?
To apply for the Octernships program, you must follow the requirements listed below:
- 18+ years old
- A verified student on GitHub Global Campus
- An active contributor on GitHub
- Enrolled in an institution with work eligibility in one of the ten countries: India, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, Mexico, Nigeria, and Colombia.
Are there any age restrictions to participate?
Yes, you must be at least 18 years old to participate.
Are GitHub Octernship opportunities remote?
Yes! All participating organizations display remote-only opportunities so that students from eligible countries can participate.
How long are GitHub Octernship projects?
The projects can vary in duration from one to six months.
Partners
Is my organization eligible to participate in the program?
Eligible organizations must be located in a country not embargoed by the US.
Does GitHub charge any fees to participate in the program?
No. GitHub does not charge organizations to participate in the program.
What is the stipend amount assigned to students participating in the program?
Partner organizations must be able to provide a minimum stipend of 500 USD per month per student.
How can we become a partner organization?

What kinds of projects can we host as a part of the program?
We are looking for Open source and software development projects in many ways, including documentation, design, development, testing etc.
